OverviewThis project challenged me to create a series of book spreads that paired a book with a typeface, with the goal being that both choices felt intentional and harmonious together, rather than arbitrary. The challenge was not just in the design execution, but in the conceptual thinking behind it — justifying why a particular typeface and a particular book belonged in the same space.

The Great Gatsby
I choose to pair the Futura typeface with The Great Gatsby because both the novel and the typeface are remarkably timeless — even though they were created nearly a century ago, just two years apart in the 1920s, each still feels strikingly modern today. Pairing these two together felt like a natural fit.
